WMBR 2008 Fundraiser!
Why you should pledge:
WMBR is noncommercial radio, offering many hours of programming that cannot be found on any other radio station anywhere. We are 100% volunteer, with no paid staff. This is rare -- even among other local college and public stations. Our only sources of income are listener donations and a small stipend from MIT. We rely on your support to bring you our diverse programming!

Where the money goes:
We've used donations from previous years to upgrade the station in order to provide you with high-quality radio close to 24 hours a day. Over the past year, we've spent thousands of dollars to maintain our transmitter, without which we would have lost our ability to broadcast. This year's donations are earmarked to upgrade our 70's-era phone system and to begin a large-scale digitization of our music library, which will both preserve our rare and deteriorating analog recordings as well as allow us to better program our shows with the excellent, but hard-to-find, music you have come to expect.

Some premiums were available as our way of saying thank you for your support. They are tokens of appreciation for your tax-deductible donation to WMBR. This year we were offering T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, flash drives and other cool WMBR paraphernalia, and even the opportunity to come in and DJ for an hour during your favorite WMBR program!

Here's a sneak peek at what the premiums look like:
