Frequently Asked Questions
Your contact information, premium selections, and comments are stored on WMBR's private server, and is not publicly available. WMBR will never sell, rent, lease, or give away this information to any person or organization, including M.I.T., for any reason, nor has WMBR ever done so in the past. The reasons we ask for the information we do are as follows:
- To contact you if there is a problem with your pledge entry.
- To mail you our program guides, if you have checked "yes" on the pledge form.
- To mail you your pledge drive premium, if you have requested one.
- For broad statistical studies (e.g. geographical breakdowns of the listenership, breakdowns of favorite programs, etc.)
Your credit card information (if you provide it) is not stored with us and in fact never touches our server. See Is my credit card information secure? below.

If you have had second thoughts about your donation, we will be happy to refund all or part of it within 60 days of your pledge. If you are unhappy with any premium you may have received. we will be happy to exchange it for a different size or different item (subject to availability), so long as you contact us within 30 days of its receipt. If the replacement item you want is not available we will provide a refund upon request. If you are exchanging an item or requesting a refund, you will be responsible for any costs associated with returning the original premium(s) to us (e.g. return shipping costs).
Many of WMBR's DJs offer special premiums that are only available to listeners who pledge
during their programs. We use your pick to determine which, if any, of these special premiums
you should receive. If you want to receive special premiums from two different programs, you will need
to make two separate pledges by filling out the form twice, or put clear instructions in the comments box.
Revamping the WMBR programming schedule three times each year is a difficult process and lots of factors go into it. However, the amount of money a show raises during our annual fundraising week is not one of them. This is both the explicit policy of WMBR and the policy in practice. Really. We understand that you want to let us know that you support many of our programs, not just the one to which you are pledging. Feel free to use the comments box for this purpose. We read each and every one.
Whether you phone in or pledge online, your credit card information never touches WMBR's servers. It is transmitted securely and directly to Braintree Payments, a PayPal service that is a validated Level 1 PCI DSS compliant provider. If you are comfortable using PayPal, you should trust WMBR's pledge form as well. More information on Braintree's security procedures can be found here.
