Bobby Whitlock and CoCo Carmel Interviewed Live on WMBR's Lost and Found Program

Was aired on the program: Tuesday, September 1, 2015
12:00pm - 2:00pm

Singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Bobby Whitlock and CoCo Carmel are scheduled to be interviewed by host Eli Polonsky by telephone at 1:15 PM EDT! Bobby Whitlock grew up in Memphis in the '60s, and learned from the legendary musicians at Stax Studios. He left for Los Angeles in 1968 to join soul-rock group Delaney & Bonnie & Friends, soon joined by Eric Clapton, performing on his debut solo album and in his American tour in 1970. Whitlock then joined Clapton in England to perform on George Harrison's triple album "All Things Must Pass", from which they and musicians Carl Radle and Jim Gordon formed short-lived "supergroup" Derek & The Dominos, joined by Duane Allman for their classic album "Layla and Assorted Love Songs" on which Whitlock wrote or co-wrote a half-dozen songs. Whitlock has been recording and performing with his wife and producer CoCo Carmel for nearly fifteen years. They will be at Johnny D's in Somerville on Wednesday, September 23. Listen for your chance to win tickets!
