Margot Lee Shetterly will talk about her nonfiction book "Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race" and the forthcoming film ("Hidden Figures") based on it. The focus is three specific mathematicians and engineers at National Aeronautics and Space Administration starting during World War II. Gender and racial issues they encountered are included.
