Originally aired:
David Bromberg, an extraordinary guitarist and singer-songwriter, has graced many a musician's albums, among them those of John Prine, Bob Dylan, Jerry Jeff Walker, The Eagles, and Ringo Starr. He has released close to 20 albums himself since 1972, and has had great players join him as well, including George Harrison, the Grateful Dead, Linda Ronstadt, Dr. John, Levon Helm...and yes, that Bob Dylan guy again. Then, in around 1989, Bromberg decided to take a 22-year hiatus from performing in pursuit of a romance with violins. He now owns a store devoted to selling and repairing them. His return to recorded and live performance, the second coming of David Bromberg, brings him around to Boston's City Winery on Friday, April 6th. Hosted by Bob Dubrow.
