The Byrds are the groundbreaking folk rock band formed in 1964, maybe best known for their hit "Turn! Turn! Turn!." David Crosby was a founder and delivered his angelic voice to the Byrd's marvelous harmonies as well as played guitar for their first five albums. He then moved on to Crosby, Stills & Nash, another huge group with three brilliant songwriters: Crosby, Steve Stills of Buffalo Springfield, and Graham Nash of The Hollies. Neil Young, having begun his solo career after Buffalo Springfield broke up, joined the other three to complete the biggest supergroup of its day. Their catalog is still played today.
David has continued to put albums out in different configurations with the members of CSNY, as well as releasing many solo discs, four of them in the last five years (the fourth due out in the fall)! Mr. Crosby will be appearing at Lowell Boarding House Park in Lowell on Thursday, June 14th. Hosted by Bob Dubrow.
