Two Hour Special and Interview with Burleigh Drummond of Ambrosia on WMBR's Lost & Found Program

Was aired on the program: Tuesday, August 14, 2018
12:00pm - 2:00pm

The band Ambrosia, formed in California in 1970, tends to draw and alienate music fans depending on the musical styles predominant on their original five-album run from 1975-1982. Their first two albums had a progressive flair, adventurous and melodic, and successfully navigated FM radio with the hits "Nice, Nice, Very Nice" and "Holding on to Yesterday." The following two albums were blockbusters but mostly immersed in crafted-for-the-masses AOR (Album Oriented Rock), with Top 10 charters like "How Much I Feel" and "Biggest Part of Me" embraced on the AM dial. Call it blue-eyed schlock yacht fare. Drummer Burleigh Drummond brings us the Ambrosia story, and was cool enough to be interviewed despite knowing that host Bob Dubrow was far from a fan of their later work. We may subject you to one latter day hit, but it's the prog that we'll relish in this Ambrosia Special. Ambrosia comes to the Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, NH on Sunday August 19.

Location: 88.1 FM
