How many musicians can claim to be a member of two of the most acclaimed rock bands on earth as led by musical giants Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen? The answer is just one, and his name is Nils Lofgren. Nils joined Neil on his seminal albums "After the Goldrush" in 1970 (as an 18-year old) and "Tonight's the Night" in 1973 (released in 1975) as part of Crazy Horse. Nils later became a player in the E Street Band just as Bruce was blowing up with 1984's "Born in the USA," and remains so. But Lofgren also had his own band Grin (1968-1974) that released four albums, following which he began a solo career that continues to this day. We'll hear much of his story, and play music by all the bands mentioned here and more. Hosted by Bob Dubrow.
Nils is all over the area with his acoustic duo: The Cabot in Beverly, MA on 9/22, Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, NH on 9/25, Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, Ma on 9/26, The Academy of Music in Northampton, MA on 9/27, and Cary Hall in Lexington, MA on 9/28. Take yer pick!
