Originally aired:
Denny Laine spent his early days in the first incarnation of the Moody Blues (singing the hit "Go Now"), and then moved on to various short-lived stints in his Electric String Band, Balls (with members of The Move and Plastic Ono Band/Yes), and Ginger Baker's Air Force. In 1971 his old friend, ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, came calling, and so Denny spent the next 10 years in Paul's Wings band, the only member to survive through their seven studio albums and world tours. He co-wrote many songs with McCartney along the way. Denny continues to be part of British rock royalty, releasing solo albums since his first in 1973, an insider all the way. Hosted by Bob Dubrow.
Denny Laine and his band appear at Boston's City Winery on Wednesday, January 9.
Location: 88.1 FM
