Melvin H. 'Mel' King, a leader of civil and economic rights activism in Boston, died on March 28. Mel was an educator, youth worker, community organizer and developer, author, and Senior Lecturer Emeritus in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT. In honor of Mel King, we air a speech he made at Harvard University on May 3, 2015, entitled "From the Past, Into the Future," in which he speaks about his life and work.
