The Meters' 1969 instrumental jam "CISSY STRUT" is the foundation of modern, cool funk, a bedrock hip hop sample and the song that launched a thousand TV show and podcast interstitials. Co-produced by icon Allen Toussaint, the song swings thanks to the genius shuffle of drummer Joseph "Ziggy" or "Zigaboo" Modeliste. We'll listen to dozens of covers and songs that sampled this infinite groove
