Dave Mattacks ("DM"), former long-time drummer for top UK folk-rock group Fairport Convention, will be sitting in with host Bob Dubrow starting at noon. Fairport Convention celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
DM's professional career started in the UK with big bands before he joined the influential folk-rock group "Fairport Convention" in 1969, recording seven LPs with the band including the landmark "Liege & Lief." He left his full-time gig with Fairport in '74 to focus on a freelance career. However, Mattacks then managed to successfully combine Fairport's schedule with his freelance commitments for 12 years before leaving for good in March of '98. In March 2000, Dave left the UK and moved to Massachusetts, where he continues to enjoy a full career in music, spanning live and studio work, both as a musician and producer.
DM's discography includes 5 CD's with Paul McCartney and various CDs/tours with -- among many others -- Elton John, George Harrison, Jimmy Page, Everything But The Girl, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Richard Thompson, XTC, Jethro Tull, Joan Armatrading, Brian Eno, George Martin, Susan Tedeschi, Nick Drake and Loudon Wainwright.
Location: 88.1 FM
