Don't try to peg Portland, Maine's Audrey Ryan to any one genre. Her songs, more like orchestrations, are reminiscent of Pet Sounds era Beach Boys, with swells of strings and accordion lifting her angelic harmonies. She can just as easily deliver indie rock nuggets that conjure up those early Liz Phair days. Then she'll deliver well articulated stories with simple instrumentation, hinting at her folk and jazz sensibilities. Ryan joins WMBR's 3 Ring Circus at around 5PM to talk about, and play, selections from her new release "Dishes & Pills." She will be bringing her electric guitar, accordion and quite possibly a glockenspiel.
