Composer David Rakowski Interviewed Live on WMBR's New Edge Program

Composer David Rakowski will be interviewed live on WMBR's The New Edge program at around 3pm. Currently Walter W. Naumburg Professor of Composition at Brandeis, David Rakowski has written 3 symphonies, 5 concertos, 81 piano etudes, 3 piano trios, as well as a large amount of chamber music, and a sizable amount of vocal music with piano and with ensembles. He received the 2004-6 Stoeger Prize from the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, an Academy Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Rome Prize, Guggenheim and NEA fellowships, and has twice been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Music. His 2007 composition "Piano Concerto" for piano and toy piano will be premiered by the Boston Modern Orchestra Project in their November 2nd season opening concert, "Re-Inventions: Glorious and subversive music for keyboards".
