Malian filmmaker Abderrahmane Sissako will be interviewed live by host Julia Goldrosen starting at 4pm. Sissako is the director of the acclaimed film "Bamako," which uses the setting of a Malian courtyard to depict the fictive trial of the World Bank and structural adjustment policies (defendant) versus African society (plaintiff). Sissako is currently an Abramowitz Artist-in-Residence at MIT. He will be presenting a free public lecture "Exile: The Wealth of Humanity" on campus on Monday April 27. More information is here.
