Country-blues duo Paul Rishell & Annie Raines are scheduled to join host Eli Polonsky for a live in-studio interview and acoustic performance beginning at approximately 1:00 PM EST!
Singer/songwriter/guitarist Paul Rishell was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1950, and began listening to recordings of the country-blues pioneers in the early '60s. He became a sought after studio musician, sideman and popular club performer in Boston during the 1970s. Paul released his first critically acclaimed album in 1990, and his original music has been used in films, plays and national television programs.
Blues harpist/keyboardist/mandolin player Annie Raines was born in Boston in 1969, and grew up in Newton. She began playing the blues harp as a teenager, and was a frequent player at Boston area blues jams. The duo met in the early 1990s while working on Paul's second album, and in recent years they have become an international blues touring attraction. Rishell and Raines will be opening for folk/blues legend David Bromberg this Friday, February 23 at the First Parish Church in Harvard Square, Cambridge. The concert is sold out!
