Today's bipartisan theme appeals to those sad to see the former President depart for southern climes and/or those who want the current administration to never leave. The amalgamation by Big Joe Williams' Washboard Singers of various folks and blues songs first appeared on wax in 1935 and became the anthem that launched a thousand garage band ships thanks to the 1966 speed-fueled take by Them & (former Cantabridgian) Van Morrison in 1964. (The mercenary machine-gun guitar work of Jimmy Page also probably deserves credit. We'll endure two hours on Sunday.
