Subject To Change features live interviews with Nico Muhly, Sam Amidon and Doveman, internationally-renown and Vermont-bred musicians who perform Sunday 8/24 as part of the 802 Tour at Museum of Fine Arts. All three specialize in unique multi-disciplinary interpretations of pop and folk musics.
Sam Amidon this year released All is Well on Bedroom Community (Subject To Change's fave release of last year). Recorded in Iceland, it features newly-arranged reinterpretations of transatlantic folk songs.
Nico Muhly is an acclaimed contemporary composer, who has written orchestral pieces for the Boston Pops, the Chicago Symphony MusicNOW, the American Symphony Orchestra, the Julliard Orchestra, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Orchestra, and the American Ballet Theatre. He also has worked extensively with Philip Glass as editor, keyboardist, and conductor for numerous film and stage projects, and contributed to projects by a striking constellation of pop figures, among them Rufus Wainwright, Antony, Björk, Teitur, Will Oldham, and The National.
Doveman is NYC-based Thomas Bartlett who has played with elysian fields, antony and the johnsons, the national, the frames, chocolate genius, bebel gilberto, yoko ono, david byrne, mike doughty, miho hatori. As Doveman, he has excited interest for his (unauthorized) spin on the Footloose soundtrack.
