PATNAUSEAM PATDEMIC: The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

Was aired on the program: Subject to Change
Sunday, May 2, 2021
12:00pm - 2:00pm

Strident folk singer Ewan MacColl (government name is James Henry Miller) allegedly wrote a love song for his illicit paramour Peggy of the Seeger folk dynasty. While circulating in folk circles, Roberta Flack's 1969 cover went to number one around the world and became the ur-AOR/R&B slow jam. We'll hear two hours of covers, including the hard-to-find original recording from Bonnie Dobson.
