John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Interviewed Live on WMBR's Lost & Found Program

Was aired on the program: Tuesday, January 13, 2015
12:00pm - 2:00pm

Guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin and lap steel virtuoso and singer-songwriter John McEuen, co-founder of pioneering country-folk-rock group The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (NGDB), is scheduled for a telephone interview with host Eli Polonsky at 12:15 PM! John has performed for over 50 years, beginning in Bay Area folk clubs in the early '60s. He co-founded the NGDB in 1966, their 1971 Billboard Top Ten version of "Mr. Bojangles" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Among the more than 40 albums that John and NGDB combined have released was the 1971 Library of Congress "historic recording" "Will The Circle Be Unbroken". Lists of John's many musical awards and legends he has performed with are too lengthy to post here, but can be seen on his web bio and his story can be heard here on his visual bio. John will be in a rare duo performance with thirty year musical collaborator Matt Cartsonis on Friday, January 23, at the Bull Run Restaurant in Shirley, MA. Listen for your chance to win tickets!
