Steel guitars, ukuleles, slack key guitars, and beautiful falsetto singing have been hallmarks of Hawaiian music since recording began in the 1920s. This morning we'll hear as much of that music as can be fit into a 2 hour period. The music will include the 3 golden eras of Hawaiian music -- the 20s/30s, the post WWII decade and the slack key revival of the 70s -- and more. As a special feature to this morning's show, Michael Cord (Cord International/Hanaola Records) & Les Cook (Grass Skirt Records) have eached chosen a set of 5 of their favorite Hawaiian songs.
